Hi friends! If you’re reading this, you’ve somehow stumbled into my little corner of the web and I am so happy to have you here! I’ve launched this blog after years of procrastination, encouragement from friends, and an itching desire to find a creative outlet after leaving television news and becoming a full-time mom.
For more than a decade, I worked as an investigative reporter and could be seen on TV screens across the country. I’ve won the highest awards in broadcast journalism and I loved making a difference for literally thousands (tens of thousands?) of people over the years, but I grew to resent the industry as TV stations focused more on flash and trash than meaningful, law-changing investigations. I’ve always loved fashion, interior design, beauty, product testing, technology, and more recently, family stuff — so blogging truly is a natural transition.
To be completely honest (which I vow to always do here) I am not only blogging to help y’all, but I’m blogging to help ME. Let me explain: after having my first son, I struggled with post-partum depression. I had recently left my job in TV and I lost my identity. After years of being a badass, take-no-shit, industry-leading journalist, I was suddenly “just” a mom. Long story short, I decided this time around to literally flip the script. Less than a month after my second son, Brock, was born I decided to commit to building a website, photographing my outfits, and sharing my adventures! In some crazy way, it’s therapeutic, motivational, inspiring, and FUN, and I’m grateful that you’re here for it.
By no means do I have IT (whatever it is) all figured out. But I can promise you one thing — I will take you on my journey, share with you my highs and lows, and test a ton of products as we discover this world together.
